  • Laura presented the plan for her summer research project at the CMBS poster session and enthusiastically discussed her ideas with many attendees and other presenters! It was exciting to see her engagement and to learn about the diverse projects from other summer students.

  • We’re excited to welcome Laura Sanchez to the lab this summer as a Cellular and Molecular Biology of Stress (CMBS) Summer Research Scholar! She’ll be working with Sherlyn on an independent research project—looking forward to a great summer of science and mentorship ahead!

  • Manny attended AGE 2026, the flagship conference of the American Aging Association, as an American Aging Association Early Career Scholar. He presented his research, connected with the aging research community, and had a great time at the meeting!

  • Big congratulations to Ruiling and Sophia on their commencement! Ruiling is the first PhD student to graduate from our lab—a major milestone we’re incredibly proud of. Sophia also celebrated her graduation and will continue working in the lab this summer to wrap up her project before taking some well-deserved time off. We’re so proud of both of you and all you’ve accomplished!

  • Serenity andIvan recently shared their research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium here in UW-Madison. Serenity presented a poster, while Ivan gave a lightning talk. Both delivered thoughtful and engaging presentations—we’re proud of their hard work and progress!

  • Sophia recently gave a flash talk during the undergraduate session at the Metabolism Floor Meeting at UW-Madison, where she shared her research and recent findings with colleagues across the floor. She did a fantastic job representing the lab!
