We are grateful to have had Frankie in the lab this summer as a CMBS scholar! She wrapped up her research internship with an impressive presentation at the CMBS Closing Symposium. To celebrate her contributions and bid her farewell, the lab enjoyed a lunch outing together. Wishing Frankie all the best in her future endeavors!

Big news–Our lab was awarded an NIH R35 grant from NIGMS!

Our lab had a strong presence at the back-to-back 2024 MAPSS (Metabolism, Aging, Pathogenesis, Stress, and Small RNAs in C. elegans) and CeNeuro (C. elegans Topic Meeting: Neuronal Development, Synaptic Function & Behavior)! Sherlyn and Nikita presented posters at both conferences, Ruiling presented a poster at MAPSS and gave an oral talk at CeNeuro, and Sophia showcased her work at MAPSS–where she also won the Best Presenter Award. Congrats, Sophia!

Excited to welcome Francisca (Frankie) Esquivel, who joined the lab for the summer as a Cellular and Molecular Biology of Stress (CMBS) Summer Research Scholar!

Huge congratulations to Adam and Maggie on their graduation! Adam is continuing his PhD studies in the Neuroscience PhD Program here at UW-Madison, while Maggie is taking a well-deserved gap year to explore new opportunities.

Congratulations toSophia and Serenity on receiving prestigious research fellowships! Sophia has been awarded the Hilldale Undergraduate Research Fellowship, and Serenity has received the Sophomore Research Fellowship! These fellowships will support their research in the lab in the summer. We’re excited to see their projects grow—well done, both of you!
